Accident Procedure
1. Safety & Wellbeing
In the event you are involved in a road traffic accident or collision, your first obligation is to the safety & well-being of yourself and those around you. If you feel it is necessary or you feel any person or persons is injured, in danger or there is a possibility of injury, you must call 999 immediately and request the assistance of the relevant emergency services.

Once you have established that no parties are injured and that there is no further risk of injury or danger you must do the following:
Do not admit or speculate as to blame for the accident or incident with any third party involved.
Call Insurance Company Lockton on 03301200115 . Quote Policy Number 205-76799502-30027
The insurance company should record the following details and direct you through the next steps.
Record the details of any third parties involved directly in the accident or incident, as a minimum these details should include, where applicable:
1. Full name
2. Home address
3. Daytime telephone number
4. Evening telephone number
5. Vehicle make
6. Vehicle model
7. Vehicle Registration number
Record the following details of any witness to the accident or incident
1. Full name
2. Home address
3. Daytime telephone number
*Take photographs of all vehicles involved in the accident or incident, the road layout surrounding the accident along with any road furniture or property damaged as a result of the accident.
Provide any third parties with all reasonably requested details, where any details are not available at the time of the accident, provide the third party with correct contact information to obtain these details
In the case of any damage to our property, we need to claim against our insurance.
Record the following:
- Address
- Time of Incident
- Damage
- Photos of all damage and
surrounding area. - Vehicle Make and Model
- Vehicle Registration
Call Insurance Company
3. Contact On Site Management:
Call the On Site Manager on the numbers below. If necessary, they can also make arrangements to have your route taken over.
Your On Site Manager will complete an accident/incident report with you as soon as you are available to meet with them following the accident which will then be used to record the accident.
Had a Breakdown?
- Try to stop in a safe place.
- If unable to stop in a safe place, ensure hazard lights are on, and move yourself to a safe location away from the vehicle, but still able to have sight of the vehicle.
- Hi-Viz must be worn at all times.
- Call the police to report broke down in an unsafe location and assistance is required. Call the relevant number for vehicle recovery & report the issue to On Site Manager
Call the On Site Manager on the numbers above. If necessary, they can also make arrangements to have your route taken over.
3. Report to Insurers if an Accident:
1. Call the Insurers on 0330 120 0115
2. State that your van is part of the Q Couriers Fleet
3. Supply Policy Number UK FCO 100356
4. All claims need to be reported within 24 hours
5. They will require photos you have taken in step 2
